This just in from John Kremer's "Book Marketing Tip of the Week" October 19, 2010:

According to 14 large publishers
who report to AAP's monthly
sales estimates, ebook sales
jumped 172.4% in August to
almost $39 million in sales.

Ebook sales for the entire
year (Jan to Aug) were up
192.9% to $263 million
(that's 9% of trade sales).

You might prefer a paper book which lets you underline favorite passages and to sleep with the book covers spread across your chest. But E-books have their advantages:

1) You can search for, then find specific words and phrases quickly.

2) You don’t pay shipping charges to receive them.

3) And you can read E-books on iPhones, PC monitors and other digital devices.
