Cellphone Tower Radiation Alert!

B'SD

20 Iyar 5770

The world will continue spinning on its axis if we rely on landlines and hang up our cellphones forever. Check out these informational articles by medical researchers:

This Cell-Phone Towers: How Far is Safe? epidemiological study examined people living within 350m of a long-established mast in the Israeli town of Netanya. Researchers found a four-fold (sound familiar?) increase in cancer compared with the general population of Israel and a TEN-Fold increase in cancer in women compared with those outside the 350m zone in Netanya.

If you live 1/4 mile from a cellphone tower
look out!

Call Off that Cellphone!

B'SD

8 Adar 5770

Gentlemen's Quarterly has an interesting article about
The Dangers of Cell Phones.

This is a concern I've shared with you many times, readers. I beg you not to wait until the evidence is so obvious that commercials about cell phone dangers dot the landscape and the Internet or fill the airwaves. Hang up on your cell phone. Use landlines, fax machines or E-mail to communicate.

The money you're saving/earning with cell phones could eventually bury you. Literally. You don't want to prove it.

All it Took was a Phone Call...

22 Adar Alef 5768

Today I took an early-morning call from abroad that lasted an hour. An Israeli woman in another country had heard of my survival/recovery from surgery to remove my formerly life-threatening though benign brain tumor (called a Meningioma), and she'd heard about my book for coping with medical crises.

She's in serious need of surgery similar to mine. She was terrified of her situation (a very normal reaction) and wanted reassurance as well as information from me, a fellow Hebrew-speaker.

I used my Self-Help Coaching techniques with my caller, responding to her concerns one by one and offering some insights about how to take control of her medical life. We reached a point when she giggled at her situation. She understood the context in which she can cope with her medical crisis and its challenges.

Our conversation ended after she'd mentioned "feeling better now" several times.

We'll be speaking with each other again, most likely. She wants to benefit from my sense of humor and from my familiarity with finessing the medical world and its baffling mazes.

It all comes down to finding the courage to accept treatment.

Fear is quite a monster,
a very real complication to medical crises.

Overcome your fears, step by step. Read my book and/or access my Self-Help Coaching services.

Oh - I want to add a BIG "Thank You" to Sandy Scherlis, who directed that caller to me. Sandy and I are fellow listmates of that very informative and helpful
Meningioma Mommas (and Poppas) site.

Save a Life with ICE

25 Cheshvan 5768

Several newspapers around the globe have been publicizing the life-saving technique called ICE. ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. If you haven't read about it, here's a quick recap about ICE:

The idea is to use the thousands upon thousands of cell phones that people around the world tend to carry throughout the day. In the event that medical personnel or anyone else finds someone (including you) in serious need of medical help but unable to help themselves, it would be a good idea for them to know how to contact people important to the ill person. The medical staff/first responders would know whom to contact and how to call them.

Cellphone/mobile phone users tend to store names and phone numbers in the memory banks of their device(s). But it's meaningless information to most observers. The ICE campaign asks us to designate the names and contact information that should be used for emergencies.

Simply store the number of a contact person or persons who should be informed about your situation during emergency under the name "ICE" ( In Case Of Emergency). List more than one contact name by entering each individual as ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3, etc.

In an emergency situation, First Responders/Emergency Services and other medical personnel would be able to quickly contact the right person/people by dialing the number(s) you designated in your cell/mobile phone as "ICE."

Save a Life (maybe your own) with ICE. It can speak for you when you are incapacitated.

There are other life-saving ideas and tools in my book. Read It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To. See what Life Coach and syndicated columnist Ben Goldfarb wrote about me, my blog and my book in the previous post to this blog. Just click on the comments icon ;^ )
