Toxic Plastics in Canned Food and (omigawd you'll never guess where!)

B'SD

I realize that some of the "organic lifestyle" suggestions in the book and on this blog leave you a bit distressed and skeptical. With the evidence adding up about synthetics poisoning the populace, however, I want to underscore the "synthetics are dangerous to health" advice.

BPA is a chemical found in many plastic food containers. It's leaching into human bodies and wreaking havoc with health. Look at some of the photos on this blogpost for a quick grasp of how often BPA gets inside you or your loved ones. Yes, baby formula too often contains BPA!

The Environmental Working Group shares my concerns. Read their update entitled

Bisphenol A:

Though the article advises using stainless steel thermoses without plastic linings, you might face health issues from the metal leaching into your water (I won't even use stainless steel cookware for that reason! Aluminum cookware is a known cause of Alzheimer's, so I prefer ceramic, porcelain, glass, and cast iron cookware). A metallic flavor in your water could be unpleasant, too. Please use ceramic, glass, wood and cast iron utensils that do not endanger human health.

What to do for a water bottle? This blog often lets you know that scrubbed-clean empty grape juice and wine bottles make excellent water containers when tucked into cushiony water carriers that hang off your shoulders with straps.

Hmm, how much benefit can there be to ridding your kitchen and household of plastics? Well, for one thing, there's evidence that synthetics are causing the odd rise in infertility problems among people who grew up using them. Parenthood is being achieved after changing old habits for healthier ones (and after benefiting from BHRT Bioidentical Hormone Therapy to restore normal hormone levels).

And yes, non-toxic baby bottles and safe pacifiers are still manufactured ;^ )

Male Sexual Dysfunction and BPA...

B'SD

28 Cheshvan 5770

One of the male fans of this blog, Aryeh Zelasko, alerted me to the following news item:

Workplace BPA Exposure Increases Risk Of Male Sexual DysfunctionScienceDaily (Nov. 11, 2009)

High levels of workplace exposure to Bisphenol-A may increase the risk of reduced sexual function in men, according to a Kaiser Permanente study appearing in the journal Human Reproduction.

The five-year study examined 634 workers in factories in China, comparing workers in BPA manufacturing facilities with a control group of workers in factories where no BPA was present. The study found that the workers in the BPA facilities had quadruple the risk of erectile dysfunction, and seven times more risk of ejaculation difficulty.

This is the first research study to look at the effect of BPA on the male reproductive system in humans. Previous animal studies have shown that BPA has a detrimental effect on male reproductive system in mice and rats.

Funded by the U.S. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, this study adds to the body of evidence questioning the safety of BPA, a chemical made in the
Exposure Increases Risk of Male Sexual Dysfunction production of polycarbonated plastics and epoxy resins found in baby bottles, plastic containers, the lining of cans used for food and beverages, and in dental sealants.

Science Daily: Workplace BPA

Replace your plastic plates, cutlery, cups and the rest of your kitchenware with Cast Iron (skillets, utensils), Ceramic (mugs, plates, bowls, etc.), Fabric or genuine Paper Napkins and Place mats instead of synthetic varieties, Glass (jugs and drinkware), Porcelain (mixing bowls and pots), and Wood (dish raks, mixing bowls, serving pieces).

On the go? Drink from GLASS bottles (e.g., used wine and grape juice bottles washed clean for this purpose). And use metal trash cans instead of plastic.

By the way, consider reducing the above health risks to your children by removing all the plasticware at their table settings, in their toy supply and on their bottoms. Georgetown Universtiy Medical Center professional Dr. L. Silver and the Institute for Children's Environmental Health insist that plastic diapers and other items in childhood represent serious health concerns.

Sippy Cups/Training Cups Can be DANGEROUS for Children.

End your doubts and vulnerabilities. Live life on the safer side of chemical reality. You can still buy glass baby bottles, rubber nipples instead of synthetics, and cotton diapers (er, plastic-lined diapers have been proven to harm to baby's reproductive organs).

Read a book about how to ease into that reality and lots of other helpful stuff.

Do You Know Which Household Items Hurt Your Bone Health?

B'SD

Lots of suggestions about improving your health fill the pages of

The text is based on my documented medical experience at vastly improving my health, even regaining vision, by ridding my diet and home of synthetic substances. Some DOCTORS are recommending my book and/or using it in their practices.

Here's some scientific support for why the book advocates ridding your homes of plastic kitchenware, among other things:

If you find it hard to accept that synthetic shower curtains, in addition to children's toys, personal care items, vinyl flooring and other common items can harm your health, see The Shower Report.

Want to know about stuff that can more safely replace all those familiar things? I recommend a particular book ;^ )

Go with Glass. It's Better than Plastic

B'SD

17 Elul 5768

People might make fun of your preference for drinking from glasses instead of from plastic cups, and from glass bottles instead of plastic ones. But you'll be better off for your healthy habit.

The National Institutes of Health have released what I believe is their 3rd announcement about "concern" regarding the dangers and suspected dangers of drinking from commerically made plastic drink bottles this year.

See BISPHENOL-A of Concern for a full report.

Be sure to read POSSIBLE HEALTH RISKS, too.

Need a good idea for some glass water bottles? Save your wine and juice bottles, scrub them out with a bit of dish soap and a bottle brush, fill them with clean water and then place them in cushioned bottle carriers with shoulder straps. It's a low-cost solution and healthier, too.

I'll be taking a few days off from blogging so surgeons can remove the metal plates and pins they inserted in my arm on New Year's Day. The once shattered bones healed wonderfully (Thank GOD!) and I'm ready to live without the metal. Yep, there goes my Bionic Woman identity. What an adventure it's been :^ )

I hope to see you at my monitor next week. If you find it hard to wait to learn about more of my easy-to-implement Better Health ideas until then, BUY YOUR COPY OF MY BOOK TODAY!
