Catch!

B'SD

27 Cheshvan, 5773

Gosh I have much to share with you after a week off so I could travel to Israel's north. I'll share some thoughts but reading them might seem to be like a game of "Catch!" Here goes:

I made new friends and did some healing work while I was in Tzfat, an ancient city known for its mystics and naturally beautiful mountainous region. Lush greenery and heartbeat-thrilling skylines compete with breath-takingly beautiful skies. You can see quite far from almost anywhere in the area, even into far-away hearts and minds. Israelis there were praying for Hurricane Sandy survivors to overcome their challenges, as are Jews all over Israel.

Israel's government has sent substantial manpower and equipment to help Hurricane Sandy survivors.

I am saddened to see that despite Obama's re-election to an already US-damaging presidency, that he has not shored up FEMA or much else. Photo-ops simply do not save lives.

Meanwhile, Israel has been under an ongoing hail of rockets for weeks. They're coming from Gaza ( launched on land that Israel surrendered for the sake of peace) and Syria, hitting us from south to north. 70+ rockets have hit my country since Saturday and they haven't stopped falling! I've spent weeks with fellow Israelis praying for others and  I sure hope you'll pray for our rescue from madness. About one million Israelis in the south of Israel alone are in some dangerous crosshairs.

The rest of the world seems to be having earthquakes or suffering some other disaster. It's quite exhausting to consider it all.

The holiday season is upon us and I doubt that all that many people are focused on tinsel, needless gifts and fancy menus or other trivialities. The focus is on nourishing food, adequate medical care, surviving physical and emotional shocks, and seeking sound shelter on too-little money. That's demanding stuff with a need to breathe, weep, and reassess things again and again.

A medical, emotional or other crisis - you'd cry too, if it happened to you. Use your tissues and handkerchiefs with my blessings borne of experience. GOD gives you Permission to Weep. And you can say that to any critics after explaining that "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To." See pages 4 and 5.
