Wish You Were Here, Hope to See You Soon!

B'SD

18 Adar 1, 5771

BREAKING NEWS: I'm off on a rather fun research assignment, laughing more than I have in ages. I'm interviewing a most interesting contemporary historical figure with a rollicking sense of humor. His wife is a stitch. I already have reams of material for my editors and one major fascination with my present assignment. It actually began last Friday and is scheduled to continue a few weeks while my interview subjects are easily available for conversation.

The best part is that I don't feel as if I'm working. My efforts seem to be taking place in a vacation setting. I want this blogpost to serve as a "Wish You Were Here, Hope to See You Soon!" postcard.

Stand by for updates. I hope to be blogging again by March 10. And trust me, what I'll be sharing with you will be great for everyone's health! Humor heals hearts and souls.

Hang Up Your Cellphone to Save YOUR Life!

B'SD

13 Adar 1, 5771

I've blogged about this before and previous editions of my book held relevant reading suggestions about the topic. Cellphones harm human health.

Scary medical evidence exists
that cell phones put you,
your kids,
even the baby
at risk for brain tumors:

Central Nervous System tumours are the greatest childhood cancer killer in the 0-15 age group in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia, having overtaken all leukaemias in each of those countries. The medical world relies on cancer-causing radiation "treatments" that might end a problem but start another...

Pregnant Women Beware!
The evidence is in that you & the baby are at risk.

Guys, you're at risk no matter your age.

Ready to hang up on the cellphone industry yet?
Nobody's safe from cellphone radiation.

STILL Skeptical??? Before you throw your cellphone at the monitor or me, read Wireless Radiation Risks.

Remember: the world turned on its axis before the digital industry dawned. World peace is not at hand due to cellphones. But inner peace could be, once you toss some danger out of your life. Gradually wean yourself from WiFi, cell phones and other radiation sources you can literally live without. Delectrify your life in gradual steps. All-or-Nothing action tends to backfire. And if you're ready to volley criticsm at me for blogging my message, consider this: I'm only online maybe 2, tops 3 hours daily (and some days not at all). Humanity needs productive face time, not more radiation.

There's a reason that medical and mental health professionals endorse E-book
EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge.

Clean Your Baby to Save Her/His Life!

B'SD

12 Adar 1, 5771

My tummy tightened and tears fell from my eyes as I read this sad news about a baby who died from tainted wipes: Parents Blame Toddler's Death on Tainted Alcohol Wipes.

Please examine every part of the label on your child's hygiene and cleaning items. Clean your baby as you protect that precious, defenseless life.

Look at

Thank YOU, Officers!

B'SD

10 Adar 1, 5771

If you haven't heard the awful story of a crazed man rampaging the subway system and streets of New York this past Saturday, then I suggest that you join me in mentally thanking the officers who stopped his murder & mayhem spree:
Good WINS Out Over Evil Thanks to These Brave Police Officers.

Now take time to absorb the meaning of it all. Develop a plan to keep tabs on everyone you love in the event of an emergency. And make a daily habit of sincerely thanking the police officers, fire fighters, medical professionals and other people who make your life safer. Speak with them, develop pleasant relationships and acquaintances. Start today. Don't wait for crises to happen.

Heroes deserve our gratitude.

If you wonder about the mental health and stability of someone you know. look up relevant information for helping them, yourself and/or your community in the Global Resources section of E-book

Quality Spouse Time: Giver Her a Delicous TREAT for Valentine's Day!

B'SD

9 Adar 5771

Ladies, you'll love this blogpost. It's delicious!

Get your husband to read this with you (or be subtle as a brick: leave this on his monitor so he can read it alone):

Mahalabeya is a light, delightful dessert served in a cup or bowl (halab is the Arabic word for milk). Here's how to prepare it:

1 Cup milk
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 Tablespoon sugar

Dissolve sugar and cornstarch in the milk, with a wooden spoon. Heat the well-blended ingredients in an enamelware, Pyrex-type or porcelain saucepan almost to a boil. Turn off the heat. The mixture will thicken on its own.

Take the saucepan off the fire as soon as it boils. Let it cool gently on the countertop/a trivot while you gently, gently stir the foamy concoction with the wooden spoon. Add a dash of organic rosewater, a bit of shaved coconut flakes, vanilla and/or some raisins.

Play with the recipe over time.
Eat the luscious results warm or after refrigeration, served in a cup or bowl (pre-warmed if you wish).

Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top. Decorate the surface with a light rain of freshly ground nuts (cashews are wonderful for this recipe!). Place a dainty teasoon on the saucer.

Serve the still-warm drink to the woman you love.

This recipe is sure to turn almost any day into a cuddle-fest. Here's to your emotional health!

We usually think about medical issues from a personal point of view. Today's blogpost is a bit of a salute to hardworking medical professionals who sacrifice personal time to tend to their patients' needs.

The recent blizzard that covered about a third of the USA made a significant impact on the medical world. Read about it and some heroes at
Snowed in at the ER.

Be sure to thank each and every medical professional when you can. You just never know who gave up time with the family or some favorite activity to be there when you needed them.

Preparing NOT to Pack on the Pounds 1-2-3!

B'SD

2 Adar 1, 5771

Ever wish you had more time to cope with life? Good news: YOU DO!

Notice the unusual date on today's blogpost: The Jewish month is literally Adar 1 as this is a Jewish leap year with an Adar 2 coming up next month!

Adar is a time of special joy when Persia's (and much of the known world's) Jews were spared mass annihilation by a crooked government minister (sounds familiar, huh?) who'd been guilty of headline-worthy crimes.

Jews around the world celebrate the miracle with a holiday called
Purim. It calls for costumes, the retelling of the Purim story (the whole megilla!) and much silliness (plus a serious sense of marvel at the miraculous end of Iraq's Israel-aimed Scud Missile War).

At any rate, lots of hi-calorie foods are shared in packaged gifts, then served at celebratory meals later in the Purim-fest day. But diners usually regret having packed on the calories despite the good-natured fun.

Here's a HEADS UP:

YOU (and everyone else in the world) have time - an extra month - to prepare better menus for Purim and any occasion. Start today, and search out delicious recipes which maximize nutrition, not calorie counts. Purchase necessary ingredients now so you can cook with ease long before the March 19/20 2011 party.

Avoid the nuisance of a boring, guilt-tripping

and health problems easy to avoid.

How to Recover from CRPS/RSD

B'SD

28 Shvat 5771

CRPS/RSD is in the news:
CRPS - a Mysterious and Debilitating Pain Disorder. I sympathize with the sufferers. I once had it and feared losing my entire arm - even my life - from the after-effects. Thank GOD I recovered. Newcomers to this blog might not have discovered my cure for it: laughter.

CRPS is agony. Some doctors pronounce it with an "A" and no "S" at the end. Why? Cuz that's how the patient feels. Like ----.

See this
Laughing My Way to Better Health post and read about one way to end the misery.

You can let Dr. Paul Christo of Johns Hopkins know about all this when he discusses Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) on February 9th.

Scroll around this blog for other CRPS/RSD-related posts in March 2008. Feel better soon, with my blessings.

How to Overcome Eating Disorders

B'SD

27 Shvat 5711

I've worked in psychiatric settings where people with eating disorders sought therapy. And I've known anorexics among social acquaintances. The agony for such people and their loved ones is numbing, overwhelming.

The good news is that as time continues to unfold, better insight and therapies come to the fore.

Please read this New York Times feature story
The Insider's Guides to Overcoming Anorexia and Bulimia.

My prayers are with the people
who need this help.
