Where's the Outrage?

B'SD

10 Tamuz 5770

Americans face alarmingly dangerous health risks on many fronts: the BP oil spill ruining its shores and wildlife, food recalls (are the FDA and food service industries hiring people who care and can read or not?) and an increasingly obvious sleight-of-hand Healthcare Reform Act robbing victims of the very healthcare they desperately need.

This "Healthcare Reform Act" crime against humanity was enacted March 23 2010. I have yet to learn of someone's life being improved by it.

I have learned, however, of thousands of people losing vitally needed Medicare privileges, and of doctors going broke or choosing to go out of business for lack of sufficient reimbursement.

Read this editorial from the internationally repected publication The New England Journal of Medicine:
Where's the Outrage?

I was in the USA during winter holiday season 2008. It was depressing due to one horrific financial scandal after another. News shows tallied mounting losses of homes, businesses, marriages and lives. Americans voted for a president promising "Hope" and "Change."

The only change we've witnessed is the increasingly rapid, downward spiral of the US economy and public welfare.

Boiling the Frog in the Health Care Bog

B'SD

23 Nisan 5770

I'm sorry I don't have warm, fuzzy reassuring news to share with you, today. Instead, I offer a wisely considered essay about the poorly crafted Health Care Reform legislation now haunting the USA. The remarks are by world-class public speaker and businessman Randy Gage:
Boiling the Frog in the Health Care Bog.

Yep, "Unfortunately for the administration, they omitted to deal with one pesky little chink in the armor... That is the Security and Exchange Commissions rule requiring companies to restate their earnings to reflect present value of long-term health plan liabilities."

I won't be surprised, but I will be quite sad, to learn of Americans dying or suffering otherwise avoidable harm because of this poorly considered legislation. The wool has been pulled over American eyes.

It could kill or severely harm you.

What the Medical World Wants

B'SD

2 Shvat 5770

Readers, there are
exceptions to the rules written below, but not enough.

Medicine has morphed into a much-different world in the last 45 years. Lifestyles and health risks have also changed dramatically. Increased workloads, fast food and time restraints have had negative effects on the aging and health process. Poor diet, stress, and environmental chemicals, let alone industrial poisonings affect us in ways the human body never dealt with before.

Conventional Medical Professionals are too often trapped, telling ill people to obey expensive commands and perspectives, and then frustrated when compliance doesn't happen or doesn't work.

It's easy to lose sight of what the patients want and need.

Too many medical institutions and practitioners don't want successful self-help and holistic healing methods, because although selling synthetic medicines and dangerous procedures is expensive and often worsens physical, spiritual or emotional health, it keeps them in business.

On the other hand, they love industry-wide consensus and brand-name products because they bring in reimbursement, plus they have promotional support from drug manufacturers and treatment sites that need to pay for expensive purchases that fill desperate people with hope.

The pharmaceutical (drug) industry doesn't want tried-and-true remedies that don't change from year to year. That's not going to build drug sales. The conventional medical world thrives on BREAKTHROUGH discoveries and ever-changing rationales about why one medication or treatment method is preferable to another. That's how they make a living.

Governments have an at-odds-with-itself investment in supporting medical advances and treatment (the USA seems to excel at this). They're focused on cost-effective ways of keeping citizens nominally healthy but are uninterested in respecting individual needs or in respecting cost-effective preventative measures. Passing prohibitive laws that limit healthcare and healthcare insurance options gives them agendas. And all that
media attention!

The trips, the bribes, the personal power ...

If the medical world prescribed lifestyle changes,
whole foods or natural cures along with effective conventinal medical practices, they'd have to face some cost-effective realities and lose lots of potential scare-mongering income.

If the medical industry can't make money selling complementary/alternative healing methods in addition to lucrative conventional medical practices, why would its members recommend non-conventional methods to you?

You can view these realities as mysteries too big for mortals to solve. Or you can see them as parts of the system as enduring and as central as the
groupthink on which the conventional medical world largely relies...

Pledge allegiance to the system and you might forget the patient. And we know how poorly that's working out over time.

Take back the power to make your own decisions about personal medical care.

Learn of can-do, AFFORDABLE SOLUTIONS to get what you need from an author who learned lessons on BOTH sides of the hospital bed.

Its lessons extend far beyond the medical sphere to life challenges whatever they may be: lessons we can't afford to ignore." – Life Coach Y. Ives, England

Staying Alive: Medically, Financially and MORALLY

B'SD

7 Menachem Av 5769

Read Star Lawrence's comment on yesterday's post, then
What Happened to the Moral Case for Health-Care Reform?

Now check out this Tweet from USA Today reporter Liz Szabo:

And the

What does this say

Thoughts?

Here's what I've been thinking for a few years already: Staying alive has become a medical and financial nightmare. As Star pointed out yesterday, some folks are considering euthanasia, killing off the sick to save money.

The moral, social
and personal expense
of THAT is the stuff of
novels and nightmares.

The end of life's purpose.

I'm trying to reverse course for the defenseless victims of out-of-control medical costs, overbearing and immoral governance. The strategically, emotionally and financially draining spectrum of illness further endangers human health.

"It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge" addressed those issue on a global basis. The book sold modestly around the world.

The revised, updated edition is about to be released.

How 20-Somethings Can Protect Their Health. Affordably. You, Too!

B'SD

Sad news in the USA.
Obama claims that he isn't familiar with the present health bill passing through White House auspices.

And 20-somethings fresh out of college can't afford minimal health insurance.

America, this is not your typical hard work = success story. And it is hurting people across the USA's social spectrum.

Good news, though. The "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge" book holds lots of information about free and low-cost health care options. It has stories and exercises for making you feel better, too.

Community Health Centers Can Endanger Your Life

B'SD

7 Adar 5769

Either the new American president doesn't comprehend the necessity of excellent health care and the means of delivering it, or he simply wants more cost-cutting at the expense of US citizens. That is, at the expense of voters' lives and the decreasing quality of those lives while those voters still breathe.

If you live in the USA then you probably know how increasingly hard it is to get hold of some medicines and medical treatments, let alone quality time with a doctor who follows your case over time.

If you've ever been to a college health center, a Medicare office or other bureaucratic medical institution and suffered significant lack of health care there, you can imagine the outcome of Obama's new "hinted at" health-care proposal for solving overcrowded emergency room problems.

True, hospital emergency rooms have long been overburdened by people who use them for primary medical care. But Obama's health care reform concept is NOT designed to cure the problem no matter how much he insists otherwise.

Bureaucracy only disables medical professionals from delivering quality health care. Government intervention is designed to limit, as in repress, prohibit and prevent, necessary medical care that is expensive or used for frail indivuals with statistically poor chances of recovery.

Consider how all of the above is going to become dramatically worse when you read this news clipping:

"...2 Mar 2009 ... Obama pushes centers as one focus of health reform ... provided a hint on Monday of one direction he could take -- community health centers..."

Read the rest of this appalling story at
Obama Pushes Health Care Centers as One Focus of Health Reform Deals ...

Click here to remind yourself that I've warned you of this pending development in the past.

Check out this WashPost story entitled Doctors Seek Fees at Time Of Service

That story was not a harbinger of improving health care news.

UPDATE: More Proof that Obama is Clueless about How to Solve the Problem. Or Lies that He Intends to.

It is inexcusable for the US president to be unaware of the following news items. He talks a good game but clearly has no clue about how to improve your healthcare. See

Why Americans NEED My Book about Coping with Medical Crises

B'SD
URGENT UPDATE

BAD news in the healthcare department. President Obama's proposed changes to the American economy threaten the free market that made the USA the Super Power it once was. That power is dwindling fast during a global economic freefall. Each American's personal power will shrivel with the USA's if Obama nationalizes the US banking system (as he intends to do) while rearranging private-sector priorities.

One of those very key private-sector priorities is HEALTH INSURANCE!
As in YOURS!

You might not be allowed
to make your own healthcare choices during Obama's administration.

Need clarification of this scary warning?
See
DICK MORRIS: HERE COMES SOCIALISM...

Yup, you glommed on to that paragraph about endangered health care from the simplest of levels to the most complicated (i.e., expensive) levels as I did. Let's review it one more time:

"But it is the healthcare system that will experience the most dramatic and traumatic of changes. The current debate between erecting a Medicare-like governmental single payer or channeling coverage through private insurance misses the essential point. Without a lot more doctors, nurses, clinics, equipment and hospital beds, health resources will be strained to the breaking point. The people and equipment that now serve 250 million Americans and largely neglect all but the emergency needs of the other 50 million will now have to serve everyone. And, as government imposes ever more Draconian price controls and income limits on doctors, the supply of practitioners and equipment will decline as the demand escalates. Price increases will be out of the question, so the government will impose healthcare rationing, denying the older and sicker among us the care they need and even barring them from paying for it themselves. (Rationing based on income and price will be seen as immoral.)"

Yes, Americans will have to find out, all on your own, how to get the best possible healthcare for yourself and for your loved ones. The new American president will be limiting how much healthcare you'll be permitted to receive under his auspices.

Read newspapers.

Speak with healthcare professionals (WOW are they at risk for losing options about how to help you. Plus, their lowered incomes and higher malpractice insurance rates will make providing excellent health care to you even harder! They won't be able to afford to stay in business).

Listen to Talk Radio. The hosts of every political persuasion are discussing the looming health insurance crisis.

As if medical problems weren't difficult enough.

Praying for your safety and good health,

Yojeved Golani
