Heads Up, College Students!

B'SD

28 Nisan, 5773

I've been offline to protect my PC from hackers. I'm sorry to be limiting my communication with you. I hope that things will be back to normal after April 10th.

Life does have its fun, rewarding side, though. Tomorrow I'm scheduled to meet with vision clinic college students.

They're interested in testing my eyes plus hearing about the natural healing techniques that restored my sight. They'll be examining my eyes with machines you've probably never heard of, marveling at the physical evidence that shows how I could have been left blind forever.

I might have some interesting comments
to share with you after the adventure.

If any students planning to attend that class tomorrow are reading this blogpost, keep your heads up, ears and mind open. I have surprises in store for you.

CST and Me: What it Can Do for You!

B'SD

18 Nisan 5772

Back on April 5 I alerted you to the chance for meeting one of my healing helpers, the craniosacral therapist who restored the use of my surgically paralyzed eyelid. The corresponding nerve had been affected by the now-gone meningioma, and life-saving surgery to remove it.

Here's how that CST introduces me to readers in EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge:

Introduction

It was 5765/2005, a week before the Passover holiday. I was busy installing a new kitchen. While I attended the mundane my dear friend Yocheved Golani, whom I would actually meet a year later, developed a sudden case of blindness.

Alone in Hadassah Ein Kerem's emergency room, Yocheved discovered a terrible reality that would dictate the course of the next few years of her life. She had a brain tumor growing on top of the section in the brain that controls breathing and heartbeat. What's more the tumor nestled in a bed of nerves that control movement to the right side of the body, facial sensation, hearing, neck movement and vision.

Yocheved was at risk for permanent deafness, blindness, paralysis, and dying a slow painful death of asphyxiation that could not be stopped by medical professionals. She had little time left for successful rescue efforts.

It was not the worst news that Yocheved learned that day.

The part that nearly devastated her was finding out that the tumor had been identified eighteen months earlier, but never revealed to her. She had lost a critical window of opportunity to remove the tumor safely and completely with user-friendly Gamma Knife Radiation when the tumor had been quite small and relatively harmless. It would have involved one doctor appointment as an outpatient in the hospital. It would have cured her in an hour. At this point in time, it was too late to use Gamma Knife successfully. Yocheved needed surgical removal of the tumor.

Two prominent neurosurgeons refused to operate on Yocheved at this late date for fear that they would kill her by merely trying to remove the now enlarged growth. A miraculous event led Yocheved to the surgeon who agreed to try to save both her life and its quality. But, he cautioned, substantial risks would present themselves throughout the effort to save her. The doctor offered no guarantees, only his world-famous surgical skill and his experienced hands. Yocheved decided to take the chance. "GOD commands us to choose life. I refused to turn away the one opportunity I had for saving my life. I gave the doctor and myself the possibility to succeed. I agreed to let him operate on me."

Yocheved resolved to live past this crisis, and she did. Beating the odds for survival over the tumor that was slowly killing her, and the odds regarding devastating potential consequences from the dangerous surgery awaiting her, Yocheved clung to core beliefs.

She also developed some new emotional and spiritual muscles in order to remain alive and to recover from the effects of her medical condition. "I also needed to put everyone around me at ease so that we could work as a team to make me well," Yocheved explains.

This workbook is designed to help you to cope with a medical challenge, perhaps a medical crisis. It is based on actions that Yocheved took, ideas she embraced, and emotions that saved her life. Her new updated version gives you even more resources to use in this process.

You can adapt Yocheved's coping mechanisms to your life so that you too can face a medical crisis with dignity, skills that can improve your mental and physical health, and as much healing as HaShem (GOD) will bring to you.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sincerely,

Andrea Kornfeld, LMT, C-CST

Craniosacral therapy did far more for my overall health than to restore the use of my formerly paralyzed eyelid. Chana Bracha and I hope to see you in the audience tomorrow night, where you can hear about that, and how CST can help you.

Speaking Tour Update: Meet the Author and One of Her Healing Helpers!

B'SD

13 Nisan 5772

I've been on a speaking tour since January, and I'm still receiving new requests for live appearances. People appreciate the cost-cutting, stress-reducing information in my book.

Whoosh, I'm focused on Pesach/Passover preparations just now. But anyone in Israel can meet me as I stand on the sidelines (or actually, sit in the audience) 8-10PM April 11th at Jerusalem's Plaza Hotel.

I'll be in the audience as craniosacral therapist Andrea aka "Chana Bracha" Kornfeld speaks of healing possibilities. She wrote the "Introduction" to EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge after helping me to restore the use of a paralyzed eyelid and other facial muscles damaged by that long-gone benign brain tumor and surgery to remove it.

I'll be delighted to show off her work and to sell signed copies of my book at the event.

Looking forward to meeting you there!

Oh! Here's a FYI on what some people who know me say about the medical adventure I've been through plus what it and my book can teach you:

“Yocheved Golani is living proof that emuna is the greatest power on earth. With faith and perseverance, the supernatural miracles in her life have become the natural course of events. She is a shining example of what Rebbe Nachman of Breslev teaches, that 'There’s no such thing as despair.'” - Rabbi Lazer Brody http://lazerbrody.typepad.com/

"She amazes me with her strength and femininity. Yocheved makes me laugh and makes it OK to cry as well. We should all grow to posess these qualities that this phenomenal woman holds." - Galia Sapozhnikov, L,M.T, D,Ay

"Yocheved Golani is a determined woman. She has battled the most difficult trials and tribulations and emerged standing with her head held high. I respect her perseverance and highly recommend her book!" - Lenny Solomon, Shlock Rock

"Yocheved is a fighter who does not want to give up, extremely important at this time of history. She knows how to roll with the punches. In spite of difficulty, she remains steadfast in her faith in Hashem (G'D) and His good, and lives to make her contribution to Klal Yisroel (the Jewish People) and the geulah shlaimah (Redemption). If anyone deserves the proverbial pat on the back, it is Yocheved." - Pinchas Winston http://thirtysix.org/

Another Reader Inspired by My Writings and My Advice to Adopt a Purposely Positive Point of View!

9 Sivan 5768

How much impact can my book and/or blog have on someone's life? Check out this just-arrived message from a reader (name omitted for privacy protection) using one of my nicknames:

"Hi Yo-yo,

I did a little research on Cranio Sacral Therapy at your suggestion and found two places in my area that perform this. I realize it is a several month commitment, and then they adjust to your needs. I have felt a bit "stuck" these past few years, and I really like that there is a mind, body, spirit component. It sounds to me like a win-win situation, either way! Something I could really benefit from.

Now, here is why I felt a need to write to you as someone who has tried this and really knows the benefit of having CST. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I need to have surgery again after 8 years. The thing I keep hearing from my old NS, and now my new NS is that there is concern of scar tissue, and the hard "eraser like quality" that my tumor had. My old NS doubts there would be a change in the consistency of the tumor. And my new NS said he thinks if there are any problems it would be from the hardening of the scar tissue and of course, as I already know the hardness of the original tumor. So, here is my question to you. If you had several months to detox your body, and incorporated CS Therapy before having your surgery, do you think it could help create the fluid it needs to release some of that bulid-up, hard, plaque like substance that could potentially make this tricky surgery even more risky? Something is telling me it could. But, I don't know enough about this first hand to make that judgment. I know you can't tell me what to do, but perhaps you have some insight or knowledge you can share that could guide me on this amazing journey I am now on.

Monday, I met w/ Dr. ____, who is in _____, and ... he is proposing two surgeries. One endoscopic, and then an eyebrow craniotomy to get to the upper portion if need be. Oh, how I do not want to have the craniotomy again! I trust he knows what he's talking about, but in my haste to want this to get moving, I scheduled the first surgery for two weeks from now...

So, my question is, do you think it is worth having the extra time to continue the self healing I have begun and to try CS Therapy to, in a sense, help Dr. ___, so when he gets in there, I will be helping the process on another level, I would like to know if this is what you would do, knowing now what you know.

I really value your input on this Yojeved, as you are the one who opened my mind to this from thousands of miles away!

Thank you, and God Bless! ____"

Rest assured that I informed the writer of multiple and wonderful mind/spirit/body possibilities. I definitely advocated for Cranio Sacral Therapy and other self-healing techniques before and after her surgery.

One of the things I've learned, as a Self-Help Coach and as a patient, is that a PURPOSELY POSITIVE POINT OF VIEW can promote healing far into the future and far beyond the Western Medical World's usual expectations. Look at the recent photo of me standing in a garden months after doctors expected to amputate my badly broken arm following a devastating accident (my fracture was further complicated by the short-lived development of RSD/CRPS) and years after I was expected to go permanently blind. I use both pain-free hands/arms and I see exactly what I'm doing every day.

Not a bad result for Positive Thinking and Behaving, hmmm?

Readers, here's My Advice to YOU:
Develop a PURPOSELY POSITIVE POINT OF VIEW.
Open your body/spirit/mind to healing potential.
Watch what happens.
The intention to heal can promote healing on its own.
Let it.

Afraid you can't possibly become positive about your medical situation? FAKE IT!

Keep faking until you actually feel upbeat. Make Happiness your new habit. Re-read that letter above and read between the lines. She's going forward very consciously. YOU can, too! Buy my book and learn how. The medical and mental health therapists who praised it on the cover agree: I teach something that works!

And, uh, guess who wrote the dedication to my book? Answer: my amazed Cranio Sacral Therapist. She witnessed my remarkable progress past medical hurdles.

THIS SUNDAY IS FATHER'S DAY! Buy Dad, Grandpa, or any guy you know in a medical crisis a copy of my book. Remember the important men in your life with a gift that could become important to them ;^ )

To your good health,

Cranio Sacral Therapy, Organic Foods & Lifestyle CAN Restore Your Health

17 Iyar 5768

It's official. This week's confirmational workup at the hospital-based eye clinic following my unusual case of vision recovery conveyed MORE GOOD NEWS to more medical professionals this week.

My eyewear prescription has definitely fallen for the 9th time in two years. "Unprecedented," is a common reaction to the medical evidence.
"How can this be happening?" asked the head of the department.

Some of the eyecare professionals examining me over time suspect that I will not need corrective lenses in the future. Every aspect of my vision problems are... decreasing and disappearing!

Stay tuned. I'll let you know when one of my doctors writes an article about me. One already mentioned that he's started developing his interesting essay.

What else are Cranio Sacral Therapy and my organic foods and lifestyle accomplishing for me? I just gained another 18 degrees of mobility in my previously broken arm (healing from a Grade Three elbow fracture) - the limb that was almost amputated due to severe bone and nerve damage. My elbow bends another 10 degrees and my wrist bends 8 more than a month ago.

This increased movement ability happened during a full month without OT or PT therapy (thanks to a paperwork snafu that reads right to left).

But my Cranio Sacral therapist and I kept up our scheduled pace. I visited my Occupational Therapist today, after resolving the paperwork mess. She measured my movements for comparison's sake. We've grinned widely at her measuring tools and my healing modality. The evidence is before us. CST is healing me. My arm, eyes, and more are clearly being favorably affected.

John Upledger, the famous Cranio Sacral Therapy trainer is pleased. One of his graduates is my CST practitioner (one of her trainees is another CSTer working on my recovery). She keeps letting him know about my amazing progress.

Change your eating habits. Increase your optimism. Benefit from Cranio Sacral Therapy. And heal, heal, heal. Cope, cope, cope. At minimum, improve your health. Learn how. Buy my book.
