All's Well with My PC Now. And Soon for a Little Baby, too...

All is well with my PC now. What a day! I work in two time zones, and my local morning crashed when it seemed that a hacker had commandeered my PC. My tech team cleaned him out after we realized that he'd stolen lotsa Gmail passwords from unsuspecting victims. I changed mine.

All's well in my office now. So well that once repairs were finished, I immediately helped a family find an urgently needed infections specialist for their infant daughter. Took me less than 30 minutes start to finish. Ooooh, do I have a database of medical information for you...

Here are some remarks from the happy family:

The baby's family also permits me to share this with you:

We Interrupt this Blog to Bring You an Important Message...

Readers, my PC has been hacked into. I cannot communicate via e-mail nor update my blog, website, Facebook page, LinkedIn site and Twitter account.

Please bear with the time-waster as technicians work to restore my online abilities and to hunt down the cyber terrorist.

I've accessed a neighbor's PC to provide this message. Once my computer is restored, I can tap at you again.

All the best,

Yocheved

Author Recovers from Disaster! Read All About It!

B'SD

WHEW. I want to catch up with my book and blog readers after spending weeks recovering from quite a literary disaster. It all began back on August 9, shortly after blogging about the imminent publication of my first-ever E-book. The problem was highly unexpected and shocking.

Someone hacked into my work,
just as I was E-mailing the manuscript for
EMPOWER Yourself to Cope
with a Medical Challenge
to the publisher.

It would have been published
within days.

My entire text was destroyed. Try to imagine the tears that did and didn't fall from my eyes. Years of research, months of formatting, uncounted hours spent on revisions, updates, deletions of newly obsolete information.

Much hope, happiness, and optimism
about whom the book could help
just seemed to fall apart in one
capricious blow from an unknown entity.

Lost. Absolutely lost. My PC technicians could not resuscitate my newly mangled document.

I firmly believe that everything that happens is somehow for the best, even if we mortals don't know what "somehow" is.

I prayed before, during and after I deliberated and discussed the situation with colleagues and my publisher. They're aware of my concern about future cyber-safety and the ease with which E-books are stolen, plagiarized, etc. I've decided to pursue a paper format.

So, dear readers, I took some of my own coping skills advice. I capitalized on the situation, deciding that maybe I'm meant to publish the updated version of It's MY Crisis! in book form instead.

I've reconstructed the book from various materials (paper notes, E-mails to colleagues with some of my "critique this part, please" text, repeated research efforts, memory, and other stuff).

My formatters are now diligently focused on recreating the handsome appearance of the manuscript and its graphics. We've made some creative changes with a quality that impresses us quite a bit.

With help from The One Above,
the end result should be a much
more attractive product for you.

I've turned the negative into something positive. I'll appreciate your patience as I travel this new road to giving you a book even better than the lost edition.

Stay tuned for the announcement that It's MY Crisis And I'll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge is available for purchase.

It will come when Heaven decides
it should.

Meanwhile, you can still buy "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge" and benefit from the highly acclaimed coping strategies and medical information there. Medical and mental health professionals have praised it on the cover and in their private practices.

I'm grateful to my colleague Hope Clark, who helped me to choose the words to inform you of the situation. I've struggled to decide how to share the news with you.
