One Way to Cope with Medical Costs Despite the Brexit & Medicare Financial Crashes

B'SD

18 Sivan, 5776

Two BIG news stories indicate that patients around the world need information on how to handle their medical costs:

1) BBC, Sky News and ITV networks report that Brexit won the vote. UK is leaving the European Union!

The stunning outcome reflected populist sentiment and is sure to have far-reaching effects on Britain’s place in the world and the future of the E.U.

Breaking CPI and Other Chain(s) without Politics

B'SD

WARNING: Why Chained CPI Rattles the Elderly (and anyone soon to be).

Over time, I warned you that Obama's approach to medical care was problematic. Robbing social security accounts with this proposed Chained CPI plan is not in anyone's best interests. The risk is too big. If the plan fails, and even if it doesn't, your hard-earned money can disappear.

As the article above mentions, "The Obama administration’s proposal to change the basis for Social Security raises to 'chained CPI' is all about saving money by slowing the growth rate of benefits."

There's a saying from an old TV show,
"Don't do the crime if you can't do the time."

Click on AARP's automatic Protest to POTUS program or go to the AARP site (www.aarp.org) to study it before you send a message to the White House.

If Chained CPI becomes law, I will shudder with you.

If you want to prepare yourself to cope with ever-worsening healthcare prospects in the USA, or to lower your medical costs anywhere in the world, you need to read

The Global Resources section of the book is filled with information on organizations around the world willing to pay part or all of your specific medical costs: Medical appliances, medication, medical care, medical transportation and more.

You don't need to be chained to politicians enslaving you to poverty, poor choices and despair.

Where's the Outrage?

B'SD

10 Tamuz 5770

Americans face alarmingly dangerous health risks on many fronts: the BP oil spill ruining its shores and wildlife, food recalls (are the FDA and food service industries hiring people who care and can read or not?) and an increasingly obvious sleight-of-hand Healthcare Reform Act robbing victims of the very healthcare they desperately need.

This "Healthcare Reform Act" crime against humanity was enacted March 23 2010. I have yet to learn of someone's life being improved by it.

I have learned, however, of thousands of people losing vitally needed Medicare privileges, and of doctors going broke or choosing to go out of business for lack of sufficient reimbursement.

Read this editorial from the internationally repected publication The New England Journal of Medicine:
Where's the Outrage?

I was in the USA during winter holiday season 2008. It was depressing due to one horrific financial scandal after another. News shows tallied mounting losses of homes, businesses, marriages and lives. Americans voted for a president promising "Hope" and "Change."

The only change we've witnessed is the increasingly rapid, downward spiral of the US economy and public welfare.

Is it Health Care "Reform" or Health Care "Neglect"?

B'SD

Why aren't black breast cancer patients over age 65 faring well if they're on Medicare?

Why is the America Dental Association disappointed with alleged health care reform efforts? How much would those efforts fail to help Medicaid recipients and to provide preventative care to the wider population?

Announcing the Reimbursement Wiki

B'SD

16 Sivan 5769

One of the nightmares of medical problems is financial. You - and your medical team - struggle to figure out how to be reimbursed for medical care. The figures add up over time and BIG debts develop.

Here's some good news for American citizens: One of my LinkedIn colleagues (LinkedIn is a sort of Facebook for business professionals) has created a partial solution for the problem:

Announcing the
Reimbursement Wiki

I am announcing the public availability of my Reimbursement Wiki. I have compiled links to coding, coverage, and payment information, as well as information such as the following:

- Medicare (URLs for rules, topics such as surgeries, compounding, CED, MS-DRGs, DME, inpatient list, laboratory and diagnostic testing, etc.)

- Managed Care (URLs for medical/coverage policy sites at various payers, technology assessment organizations, literature on coverage decision making, etc.)

- Medicaid (URLs for CPT/HCPCS code lookup by state for payment info, state fee schedules, drug product data, etc.)

- Payment (URLs for Medicare payment basics, top 200 CPT/HCPCS codes, top 100 lab procedures, literature on drug pricing, etc.)

There is plenty more -
basically reimbursement
and health resources
I have collected in one place
for reference purposes.

The Reimbursement Wiki is an ongoing project of mine, and I add material based on topics of current work, so not all topics are represented equally. Nevertheless, I find it an invaluable resource, and I hope you do, too.

Access to the Reimbursement Wiki is free. The only requirement is to open an www.atwiki.com account. E-mail me your username so I can send you an invitation.

My E-address is scott@argentaadvisors.com.
Or you can contact me via LinkedIn.

OK, class, you now have a terrific tool for being able to better afford expensive medical care. Do your homework. Ask compassionate, detail-oriented friends/family help you to recover monies you deserve according to US law.

I've been on both sides of the hospital bed and I know, reimbursement procedures are tedious, confusing and one great way to zap your sense of humor.

Treat yourself to an emotional recovery.

Buy a copy of
"It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge" today.

Recharge your smile and sense of a better future. Medical and mental health professionals use the book for this purpose, too.

To your success,
