Summoning Courage and Making it WORK for You!

B'SD

1 Nisan, 5777

You know that feeling that nobody understands your situation?

That they don't "get" your limitations because of your illness?

That some things are out of your control and you desperately need the public, including close friends and family members to understand that reality?

Hold on to that thought a minute.

It's the month for Passover/Pesakh and I'm shoulder-deep in preparing my home for the holiday. I enjoy the fun of de-cluttering, shining things up and feeling that life has fresh beginnings.

I'm also busy helping a few people who are quite ill. It's occupying an appreciable amount of my time.

I took a few minutes to catch up on the news and found a fascinating article. It's relevant to all the things I've mentioned above.

The US beauty queen making her invisible illness visible

"It's not easy to stand on stage in a bikini in pageants. I have a 25-inch scar that runs down my spine.
"And people can see it... like, really see it."
Victoria Graham, a 22-year-old student from Manchester in the US state of Maryland, had an untraditional journey into the glitzy world of US beauty pageants.
She may look like any other contestant at first glance, but Victoria has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) - a rare genetic condition that affects her connective tissues...

Read the rest of that fascinating article by clicking on this link.

Here's the life lesson involved: The lack of public awareness undermined Victoria's ability to progress in life. So she changed the paradigm by publicizing the hard-to-realize problem. Now people can work with, not against, her.

That's courageous. And the courage is paying big dividends by fostering improvement to the woman's life.

If you're struggling with lack of awareness among the people in your life, consider how you can make some positive changes.

Rheumatoid Arthritis News YOU Need to Know!

B'SD

19 Tevet, 5776

I've been on the road this week, traveling to clients, friends and stores. I'm tired from the high-energy effort, so I made more soup, a comfort food full of excellent nutrition. Kitchen activities soothe me.

It's been fun to receive compliments on the pumpkin-leek soup I prepared for friends, and to fill requests for more of it. Israel's blustery winter weather is a shock to our systems. Hot, good soup is a comfort. I ate some while checking the news.

I came across an interesting medical news item. It caught my attention because I know several people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their children. If you or someone you know has rheumatoid arthritis (a very painful condition that limits movement), you and they need to know that...

Parental RA Raises Health Risks in Kids

Highest risks in offspring were for autoimmune diseases

It's a daunting task to live with that news.

Whew, it's been a Busy Month!

B'SD

29 Sivan, 5775

Whew, it's been a busy month of enjoying concerts and preparing to speak before a focus group tomorrow night. I'll be completing my remarks with a sing-a-long. This comes on the heels of an amusing experience.

I traveled from Jerusalem to Beersheva the other day, sitting with opera singer Isabelle Marie Haas who recently performed in Beersheva. I mentioned that I'd be singing a particular song to a group of people in a few days and that I was nervous about doing a good job. I asked her for some tips.

We laughed together because jitters are the sign of people who are focused on doing a good job. She asked me to sing the song, and joined in. At one point she stopped, listened to me singing alone and said that I have a nice voice. She only corrected me on one note.

My life is almost complete. I have performed with a singer of renown ;^ )

Back to you. I found an article worth pondering. Please click on the icon and read...

Age and cause of death are obvious data to collect for deceased relatives. But there are several others

Adjuvant Therapy: Tailored-to-YOU Medical Treatment!

B'SD

21 Cheshvan, 5775

Sorry for my silence this week - I've spent lots of time connecting with interesting people and medical resources, plus traveling by train about the country. I've also invested time in learning some hi-tech techniques that I hope to use in the near future.

But let's focus on you, again.

One of the maddening, and terrifying, realities of medical treatment is that you, the patient, are left wondering why this doctor-recommended treatment or that would work, as if a One-Size-Fits-All solution is reliable.

The truth is, life does not have
One-Size-Fits-All
medical solutions.

Humanity comes with different genetic backgrounds and related medical realities. Some treatments will work, others not, with given populations.

We're also different from each other because of what we do or do not eat, breathe and drink. Medical treatment is affected by that, too.

There's more to the story, but I have a soothing resource to share with you. It was created by a man I know well and once worked with. And it solves the One-Size-Fits-All non-reality.

It's called Adjuvant Medical Solutions. Doctors are awed by its effectiveness in fostering tailor-made medical treatments to people with cancer and other chronic diseases.

Explore the site. Consider if it can help you, too.

And yes, it's featured in
the Global Resources section

Explore the healing possibilities.
