Here's How Crying Over a Crisis Can Lead to Solutions!

B'SD

25 Nisan, 5773

Back in 2004, a neighbor scolded me for crying at my new brain tumor diagnosis (the scenario implied imminent death, the failure of medical personnel to notify me of the tumor for over 1.5 years when it could have been removed in an outpatient procedure, the need to identify and to locate a brain surgeon able to remove it without killing me in the process 1.5 years later etc) because "GOD only gives us what we can take."

I responded "It's MY Crisis and I'll cry if I need to!"

Then I chose to face the future with dignity, empowering myself to beat the odds.

GOD obviously said an "Amen."

But the comment that the woman had uttered could have destroyed many other people frightened of their circumstances.

Her one-upsmanship words came from fear, and a sense of relief that she wasn't facing her own mortality. Such people actually want someone ill to withdraw from society. That soothes cowardly psyches.

Keep the courageous spirit and sense of humor going by letting your tears fall freely.

Once you've felt a bit of relief from that, you'll be better able to see the future and to face it with creativity, an open-mindedness to solutions you can now discover and consider.

If you need help to develop that courage, creativity, sense of humor - even to identify necessary healing strategies and ways to afford them, read

A medical crisis - you'd cry too, if it happened to you. Use your tissues and handkerchiefs with my blessings borne of experience. GOD gives you Permission to Weep. And you can say that to any critics after explaining that "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To."

Why Don't You Feel Better?

B'SD

17 Adar, 5773

Whew, I've been busy advocating for and otherwise assisting some people in very serious medical distress. I'm a bit tired from the efforts.

The toughest cases are the people who did not heed the good medical advice they received before contacting me,  plus people who've read EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge but failed to learn from it.

You know the joke about "If you can't figure out how to assemble that whatever-it-is on your third or fourth try, then read the directions"?

Some folks laugh, then forget the life lesson involved. It happens to all of us.

If we're lucky, we eventually realize our error, slap our foreheads and exclaim "Hey, I knew that! OK, now I'll... (fill in the blank as necessary)."

Care to share a life lesson with the wider world? Make a comment below this blogpost. Let me know:

  • Why you don't (or didn't) feel better despite having learned what to do to minimize or to prevent your problem.
  • How are you repairing the problem now?
  • If you took action some time ago, what did you to minimize or to end the problem?
  • What advice or insight would you like to share with readers of this blog?
  • What was the funniest part of your medical healing adventure?

No need to humiliate yourself publicly: All I ask is that you share a lighthearted look at how life can be lived much more easily with a bit of good sense ;^ D

Look what I woke up to when I glanced at Facebook this morning:

The book alerts readers to conventional and alternative and complementary medicine resources around the world, plus to charitable organizations willing to pay part or all of an applicant's unaffordable medical bills.

It even teaches you
how to organize
chaotic paperwork,
appointment schedules
and emotions
(including those of rude relatives
and medical practitioners)!

Reader Raina Steinman wants her world of Facebook friends to read what medical and mental health professionals recommend. Find out why.

Two Terrific Ways to Restore Your Health!

B'SD

28 Sivan 5769

Facebookers have been referring their "friends" to this blog. So I'm going to reintroduce myself to readers new to this part of the blogosphere. Then I'm going to share 2 Terrific Ways to Restore Your Health!

Here's why your acquaintances
want you to know about
me, my book and its companion blog:

I moved to Israel in 2002, on the first Nefesh B'Nefesh plane. A week before Passover, 2005: I woke up blind and terrified to know it. I arrive at an emergency room, learn that I had been blinded by a benign brain tumor called a Petroclival Tentorial Meningioma (a benign brain tumor at the base of my skull). It's crushing all the nerves leaving my spine and entering my head.

This endangers my ability to have a heartbeat.

Doctors inform me that I'm close to death. They begin a global search for THE neurosurgeon (if such a surgeon exists) capable of removing the growth without killing me in the process.

I am brought home to wait out the search period, I pray around the clock and...

In August 2005 a neurosurgeon successfully performs emergency life-saving surgery to remove what we later learned were not 1 but 2 meningioma tumors.

Months of physical, speech and occupational therapy go by so that I can relearn how to use my arms and legs, build physical strength, and learn to speak clearly.

September 2006: I begin a healing diet plan, benefit from specific alternative healing techniques, start writing the "Crisis" book to explain to the world how I'm healing AND THEN...

I begin a new course of physical and occupational therapy to restore a sense of balance. Why? To counteract the vertigo that resulted from tumor-caused damage to my balance center and optic nerves. The vertigo is so severe that I lose my balance and suffer several broken bones within the next few years, including...

December 2007-January 2008: I lose my balance on a pedestrian walkway bypassing a highway, and suffer a crushed elbow (Hillary, I know EXACTLY how you feel!) days before New Year's 2008.

Orthopedic surgeons saving my crushed elbow observe that my other bones and muscles are comparable to those of a woman HALF my age! One of them later discussed with me how I'd accomplished that. The conversation was an eye-opener for him. He now owns a copy of my book.

My arm heals in a phenomenal Dynasplint arm brace that restretches my arm's connective tissue back to normal. BTW, I'm now Israel's only licensed marketer of Dynasplint's 40-item physical rehabilitation products line sized for infants, children and adults. See http://www.dynasplint.nl/en/

May 2009: Due to intense prayers, the alternative healing practices, and intentional optimism, I've recovered my vision (THANK YOU, G'D!!!!!!) so well that my eyeware prescription is lowered for the 12th time since the August 2005 surgery.

My former inability to walk straight, unassisted, is history. My vertigo, a result of the tumors and delayed surgery, is also resolving. Check out this photo of me making
fun of all that suffering when I dressed up as a "Boo-Boo Barbie" for Purim

And uh, my brain surgeon remarked last year that the annual MRIs are not showing much in terms of the scars of my experience. "Amazing," was all he could stammer. "Amazing." He now listens attentively when I speak of healing techniques used by the alternative healing practitioners mentioned in
"It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge."

Wanna be healthy? Here are 2 Terrific Ways to Achieve Your Goal:

1. Bring G'D into the details. Speak to The One Above as you would to a dear friend, the only friend who can help you (wait'll you read the part about what happened when a group of people prayed for me to heal and I didn't know about that!).

and...

2. Learn what I did in terms of natural/alternative and western medical healing therapies so you can mimic what I've done to restore my health and to even go beyond to better health than ever before.

BUY YOUR COPY OF "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry if I Need To: A Life Book that Helps You to Dry Your Tears and to Cope with a Medical Challenge" DIRECTLY FROM THE PUBLISHER, TODAY!

Readers Agree with Me: We CAN Break Through Barriers to Cope and to...

7 Sivan 5768

Judging from the many responses to the BHRT Summit advertisments on this blog a short while back, and the increasing sales of my book, it's becoming obvious that readers are benefiting from my writings.

Readers Agree with Me: We CAN Break Through Barriers to Cope and to Heal to the the greatest extent of human capability.

My "Can-Do Strategies" for dealing with medical problems puts much of the control of your medical future in your own hands: YOU decide how you will respond to various medical complications. YOU take positive action(s) that can produce desired emotional and/or health oriented results.

YOU CAN DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

My book highlights Alternative and Complementary Medicine endeavors. They literally made a Life and Death difference to me after my medical crisis in 2005. My organic foods and lifestyle continue to help me break through barriers and "generally expected limitations" until today. That's why my vision continues to improve against Western Medical guideline expectations and why my eyewear prescription continues to fall. It's how I beat the odds of having a horribly broken arm amputated in 2007, succeeding instead with innovative surgery and follow-up therapy.

Make the decision to heal/cope with medical challenges.
Be willing to think outside conventional practices.
Doing so helps countless numbers of people bedsides me to manage better in the face of medical crises.
Let such decisions and actions help YOU, too.

The return to natural living and healing methodologies is affecting the world of Western Medicine. The NIH (National Institutes of Health) is even accentuating the natural healing arts. Check out this recent National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine press release announcing the NEED for health care providers and patients to discuss nonconventional healing methods.

Don't care to read the whole report? Then just focus on these highlights for pursuing Complementary and Alternative Medicine protocols in your healing/coping endeavors:

PATIENT TIPS FOR DISCUSSING CAM WITH PROVIDERS

-- When completing patient history forms, be sure to include all therapies and treatments you use. Make a list in advance.
-- Tell your health care providers about all therapies or treatments -- including over-the-counter and prescription medicines, as well as herbal and dietary supplements.
-- Take control. Don't wait for your providers to ask about your CAM use.
-- If you are considering a new CAM therapy, ask your health care providers about its safety, effectiveness, and possible interactions with medicines (both prescription and over-the-counter).

PROVIDER TIPS FOR DISCUSSING CAM WITH PATIENTS

-- Include a question about CAM use on medical history forms.
-- Ask your patients to bring a list of all therapies they use, including prescription, over-the-counter, herbal therapies, and other CAM practices.
-- Have your medical staff initiate the conversation.

Keep praying! The One Above is in charge of our progress. Our job is to make that progress possible with improved attitudes and efforts.
