One Easy Way to Be Somebody's Hero/Heroine!

B'SD

11 Shvat, 5773

I was at a party last night. The hostess asked each international guest to introduce themselves as we sat in a circle.

As the conversation continued, one person mentioned that she's helping someone to get past a medical problem with her dignity intact by using a book. The hostess asked "Which book is that?"

I almost dropped my drink when the answer filled the air!

Then, the hostess remarked, "Oh, I have a copy of it on my bookshelf. Here it is! My whole family reads this whenever we need to!" She pointed to the bookshelf where she stores her copy.

Here's something that a reader wrote on the EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge Facebook page: "A moving, uplifting book. Order it now ! Not only for yourself but others in your world..."

Readers, you can be someone's hero or heroine with the simple gift of the book.

It helps you and your loved one(s), friends or mentors to lose stress, to connect with much-needed medical and mental health professionals, and to lower your medical expenses.

EMPOWER Yourself readers

I feel blessed to have helped so many people, whose names and faces I simply do not know.

Read the back cover to learn of the doctor who said the book saved his life.

Greatness is How You Choose to Respond

B'SD

29 Kislev, 5773

Thanks to the United with Israel and Thank Israeli Soldiers organizations, I spent time sharing Hanuka donuts with Israeli soldiers last night, near the Gaza border.

Many Israeli civilians joined in the fun of saluting the heroes who protect our lives.

People in the crowd discussed heroism, what it is, and how to be a hero. A couple seated near me mentioned a serious medical matter to me after realizing I'm the author of

The  book holds soothing ideas about recognizing your inner strengths, how to nurture them, and how to be your own hero or someone else's.

As you wait for your copy of the book to arrive (order it here), consider this.

Guess Who Was Nominated?

B'SD

20 Tamuz 5770

A call went out to nominate local heroes and heroines:

Name: Cristina Goyanes (National Publication)

query-ecf@helpareporter.com
Media Outlet: National PublicationDeadline: 07:00 PM EST - 25 June

Query: I’m looking for nominees for a special feature story in a major national publication that will spotlight a handful of extraordinary men and women who have contributed to the nation’s health, fitness, or nutrition on some small or largescale. We’re open to all do-gooders, impressive doing-their-jobbers, role models, innovators, scientists, book authors and activists. cristinagoyanes@gmail.com. Thank you inadvance for your time and cooperation. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Several nominations went out because of my books and coaching (I've spoken and coached in the USA during my travels). Look at one of the results that were forwarded to me!

Dear Ms. Goyanes:

Re: your call for nominees for an article about outstanding Americans who have contributed to the nation's health, I nominate virtual unknown Yocheved Golani, an amazing woman whom I have known since our elementary school days in Oak Park, Michigan. She was afflicted with multiple brain tumors and threatened blindness, but endured and triumphed over her illness with incredible positive good humor and optimism.

Spurred by her personal experience, Yocheved wrote a book to help others cope with medical set backs. "It's MY Crisis And I'll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge" is a handbook, rich in advice, exercises, and resources to help patients navigate the medical system and maintain their physical and psychological strength during their illness in a pro-active, upbeat manner.

Yocheved would be a great candidate for your feature article, and I thank you for your consideration.

Best Wishes,
Susan Tawil

PS--You can Google "Yocheved Golani" and it will link you to her web site and info about her book.

OK readers, I hope you'll share the information in this economically tough time for health care.

iPhone-friendly E-book "It's MY Crisis! And I'll Cry If I Need To: EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge" http://www.booklocker.com/books/4244.html calms readers and helps them to strategize about how to get the best possible healthcare (so does my coaching).

The second part of "EMPOWER Yourself to Cope with a Medical Challenge" lists reputable organizations providing free and low-cost QUALITY healthcare resources worldwide! Facebook that!

Must-See TV!

4 Tishrei 5768

I don't generally advocate watching television (see my earlier post about a 2-Step Plan for Coping with Negativity), but today I make an exception. If you have access to American cable television broadcasts, be sure to watch what is sure to be a heart-warming program:

http://virtualtrials.com/news3.cfm?item=3989
YOUNG SURVIVOR GURU MATTHEW ZACHARY LENDS REAL LIFE CANCER EXPERIENCE TO LIFETIME TELEVISION SERIES “SIDE ORDER OF LIFE”

Ignore the commercials and focus on the program's hero.

And here's an item I just located on one of Israel's news services, YNet.com. It's about a pianist who raises the morale of seriously wounded and disabled hospital patients: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3384620,00.html

Easy listening that puts a smile on your lips as well as your heart. To your good health, Yocheved
